MichelleChang

Michelle Chang  is a third year student majoring in Economics and History. She is particularly interested in the historical and cultural determinants in contemporary Chinese and Japanese political economy. Michelle was born in China and has lived in many countries before coming to study in the US. She loves traveling, learning foreign languages, visiting museums, and collecting National Geographic.

Ren Yi Hooi is a second year Economics major and international student at Berkeley. While interested in the role of APEC in building international trade, she is also keen to explore the development of Southeast Asian and Latin American economies. She has interned for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Southeast Asian Directorate) in Singapore. Currently the Vice President of the Singapore Malaysia Student Association in Berkeley, she also enjoys travelling, singing and community service.

Cindy Hwang

Cindy Hwang is a fourth year Political Science and International Political Economy major at Berkeley. She is interested in public policy and law, and her research interests include the development of rural China and transition economies. She has lived in Taipei, and has taught English in Bangalore. She enjoys swimming, walking, and traveling.

IvyNgo

Ivy Ngo is a fourth year History and Political economy major at UC Berkeley. Her research interests include Southeast Asian regionalism, particularly the role of ASEAN, and the effects of urbanization in Vietnam. She recently spent a summer in Vietnam, and is hoping to return after graduation. She likes bike rides, blueberries, and books.

Peter Volberding

Peter Volberding is a fourth year Political Economy major at Berkeley. He is interested in the political, economic, and ethical questions associated with globalization and integration, particularly with impact of the rise of China. In particular, he is focused on the economic impact of China on the Bay Area and on Latin America. Outside of school, he enjoys playing the flute, reading about current affairs and, above all, loves to travel.
